Heinz Berggruen met Henri Matisse in 1952. The merchant devoted several exhibitions to him in his gallery at 70, Rue de l'Université in Paris. The first, in 1952, presents etchings and recent lithographs. The following year, Berggruen organized the first exhibition entirely dedicated to cut gouaches. This is an original poster used to advertise the 1953 exhibition.
